RESUME OF THE HORRIBLES.

Ah, the little guy. How do YOU love thee? I’ve spent nearly 95% of my tenure in the private sector at independant stores, owned by people that are people instead of baby seal clubbing multinational sattelite having Lex Luthor types…wal-mart? HA! Oh man.

Anyhoose. I asked for a vacation and what with my being out sick it counts against me so its hard enough to ask for r&r but I was told I could have it and now I can’t… I don’t have paid time off, sick or vacation time. I have the: you have to come to work and don’t bitch about it. I’m pissed. And of course its month 18 without a raise….sigh….I’m gonna go fill out my resume.

Oh yeah, unless you like getting royally screwed in the ass til it fucking bleeds NEVER work for an indie company! I’m starting to think that even supporting indie shops is off my list of favorite things to do now too. Some places…oi. Maybe it’s different else where…
Maybe it’s worse. Just…whatever. Fuck them guys.

hey i love ya, really you are my shineing gal!

i think you are the best.

    screw those assholes anyway….

  2. The Wife Says:

    Great job, R! :)

Yep, that’s the sad truth about where you and R.T. work your day jobs…zero benefits. *Sigh*

  3. Katalac Says:

It’s the sad truth, but working for corperate coffee shops is just the same yucky bullshit! Sure there are benifits, but You have to wear a uniform, and listen to musak, but i think your already familiar with that so….. Yeah, good work, keep it up, I loves ya!!!

  4. Seraphine Says:

It’s the truth. If you want first-class benefits,
you have to work at a first-class company.
Mom and pops, entrepreneurs, small businesses
just can’t afford to compete financially with the
“big guys.” You have to make the decision to
sell your soul for medical care and a 401k) plan.

  5. Tres Jordanoes Says:

I would like to take a moment to argue this “Fuck the indie guy” mentality you got goin’ on. I work at an independent restaurant that has been in the same building at the same location for 42 years and has been in business serving the community for over 50. I get medical, dental, vacation, and I’m on the union; to top it all off, I was able to save my position while I go to school, I can come back during breaks and summer to work and I still have seniority. I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t hate the little guy because a certain someone’s boss is less than sympathetic (and resents their position in life). Love ya Rach.

  6. yer mom~ Says:

looks like tres jordanos is the only one who didnt get screwed.

  7. Jay Fricken Bird Says:

Your passion and creativity will propel you beyond your current condition!
Sorry, no fortune cookie. Loved frame #4.

  8. Clint-o-matic Says:

I guess it just depends on what indie-shop you work for. No raise in 18 months??? Damn. I feel the need to apologize, and i dont even have anything to do with it. I’m sorry. Great update today by the way.

  9. The Wife Says:

I’m with yer mom~…I think tres jordanos is the minority. The sad fact is, as much as these indie businesses want and try to give bennies like health insurance, it’s SO extremely expensive that you’re forced to choose between health coverage and putting food on the table. So, you’re pretty much fucked anyway. Except for tres jordanos, of course, the lucky bastard. ;)

  10. Ratchet Says:

yeah, wheres my torch and pitch for times for a good old fashioned beat down, just because he’s got it better than me. Oh wait…why don’t I just quit?! Damn, good question.

  11. yer mom~ Says:

    which boils down to this,
we need health care in this country, affordable health care………with benefits and all that good stuff

    what do we want…………..

  12. Ratchet Says:

were here were queer we dont want any more bears!

  13. EmilyRose Says:

    So fucking true.
    I like your comics, lots.
    EmilyRose

  14. Jay friggin Bird Says:

Fuggin ayyyyyyyy! 18 months is a year and a half right?

Well, there is always the Marines right?
(cue the Phil Collins music here)

  15. disastika Says:

ugh yeah. i hate to say it, but “stuck-ups” treated me a whole lot better when i worked there. well, until they fired me for, uh… no reason. basically the district manager didn’t like me, and they fired me for voids made on my register over 6 months prior. so either way, you just can’t fucking win.
